On Sunday June 19th, the streets of gay Wilton Manors will be closed to traffic as the party begins for the Stonewall Street Festival. The festival is an annual celebration in memory of the Stonewall Riotsof  June 28th, 1969 – a critical date in history marking the beginning of the fight for Gay and Lesbian rights in the USA.

The party will be held on Wilton Drive in gay Wilton Manors and will feature a parade. Andrej Pejic, a male model, was named the 98th Sexiest Woman in the World in FHM’s list of “100 Sexiest Women.”

The FHM writer tried to compensate for his “mistake” by making remarks about Pejic’s looks in the article.

Below is one of the completely uncalled for remarks in the excerpt from Pejic’s profile in FHM:

Although his sexual identity is ambiguous, designers are hailing him as the next big thing. We think ‘thing’ is quite accurate. Tall, skinny, and flat-chested, Andrej is considered in couture circles as the “perfect coat-hanger” for high fashion garments, moving the industry on from hot girls who look dangerously boyish to just boys who look like girls. Having managed to get away with it in campaigns for Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier, the blonde gender-bender has jumped the gun in hoping he might one day be signed as a Victoria’s Secret Model (Pass the sick bucket). Well, he might have a hard time keeping it a secret then.

This writer should really be penalized because his actions are disgusting.  How did this get through editing?!

Dave Armstrong has been lobbying for a nude beach in Delray Beach for eight years. Armstrong said he has been harassed and arrested for indecent exposure, but he said the problems are worth it to be able to go to the beach nude legally.

“I’m a naturist. I’m a nudist. That’s the only form of recreation,” Armstrong told WPBF 25 News. “I feel that because we’re taxpaying citizens that the city should set aside a slice of land for public and nude recreation.”

Armstrong claims he has even received threats on his answering machine “saying that I have seven days to live and stuff like that.”

Delray Beach Vice Mayor Adam Frankel told WPBF 25 News in January that a nude beach does not fit in “with the child-friendly and family-friendly principles we have here.”

Still, Armstrong insists the city is losing money by not catering to naturists and marketing an area that would draw them to the city.

Other beachgoers at the unguarded, dog-friendly north beach said they have heard rumors of nudists coming there, but have never actually seen anyone naked on the beach.

“Somebody told me that they came down here and a lady was tanning topless. That’s the only thing I’ve ever heard about it,” said Jimmy Brogan.

“Personally, being a parent of young kids, probably not what I would prefer,” said Peggy Snyder.
